NJROTC wins National Championship Qualifying Meet for 7th time

The SMN NJROTC will compete at the Regional Championship held at Shawnee Mission North on Saturday, Feb. 15.  A victory at the Regional Championship would secure NJROTC a spot in the National Championships in April for the ninth consecutive year.  Shawnee Mission North NJROTC Commanders are Chief Warrant Officer Dennis Grayless and Chief Christopher Neven.

On Jan. 25, at the Navy National Championship Qualifying Meet, SMN NJROTC won the overall title for the seventh straight year.  Their record is 27-0 for the year.  The Indians finished first in seven events, second in three events along with a third place finish in the 200 yard oval relay.

The Shawnee Mission North NJROTC swept all 11 events in the North Tri-Meet at Shawnee Mission North on Jan. 11.  The Indians have finished first in every event.  The victory at the Tri-Meet improved their record on the season to 20-0.  During Saturday’s competition, several students distinguished themselves in the areas of athletics and academics.
